Dr. Stephan Schulz, Conformiq CTO, will deliver a presentation together with Conformiq testing partner Tech Mahindra titled, “Industrial Deployment of MBT-Based Test Automation in a Large Enterprise IT Program.” The presentation will be held on Thursday 27 October at 14:20.
The presentation starts by stating that many people talk about MBT in an industrial approach – and possibly report about piloting it. Tech Mahindra has deployed a MBT based solution which encompasses tools from multiple vendors for multiple years now in a large enterprise IT testing program. As part of TechM’s next steps, they are extending their approach to also include and integrate behavioral driven development techniques (BDD) used in their DevOps environments. The work presented in this presentation demonstrates full test automation of the testing process in a real world industrial setting. The solution presented completely automates test design, test execution, as well as the interface towards requirement and test management. MBT based solution also helps identify the impact of change in requirements on testing scenarios. The solution has been applied successfully for testing of more than 20 mission critical applications and more than 40 end-2-end services within a large industrial Enterprise IT program in the telecommunication sector. The goal of the presentation is to share information how this success was achieved and naysayers within the organization were overcome using this test service provider as an example.
Dr. Schulz will also present a keynote speech titled, “Introduction to Next Generation Test Automation”. This presentation will be held on Friday 28 October at 09:00.

Dr. Schulz is currently the CTO of Conformiq, product owner of Conformiq’s Enterprise IT product line, former Chair of the ETSI Technical Committee for Methods and Specification, and leader of the review group in the ISTQB MBT working group. Prior to working at Conformiq, he has been a user and evaluator of MBT tools and worked for 8 years deploying the test automation language TTCN-3 in industry while working as a resident testing specialist at ETSI as well as the Nokia Research Center. He has been an author and co-author of numerous publications and standards on modeling and testing.
